youth retreatsYouth retreats are an incredible way to bring kids together from your church or school group outside of the typical setting. Youth groups can benefit greatly from a more focused experience without the outside world's distractions. Breaking routine is healthy, and we believe that at High Peak Camp, your youth group will have the experience of a lifetime at a youth retreat.

Every year we receive all kinds of questions ranging from simple to complex. We put together a list of the most asked questions and hope that these answers can help with your planning.

Youth Retreat FAQ

What Should I Bring to a Youth Retreat?

Everyone has a different idea of what their essentials are, but ensuring that you have a solid checklist for you and your group is very important. Some items that we suggest are:

  • Comfortable clothing for the length of the event, plus an extra change of clothes.
  • Activewear for any activities, such as gym shorts, bathing suits, and tennis shoes.
  • Extra Bedding
  • Personal Journal
  • Electronics Chargers
  • Water Bottle
  • Sunglasses and a Hat
  • Laundry Bag
  • Insect Repellent
  • Jacket/Parka

How Far In Advance Should I Book My Youth Retreat?

Getting your group's schedule together is only part of what needs to happen. Fitting that schedule into our books is the other. Picking a date as early as possible gives you more opportunities to get the time slots that work best for your group instead of the leftovers that may be available last minute.

Getting your small to medium size retreat booked out at least 5 months in advance is a good idea. Larger groups should be booked 8+ months in advance to be sure that any lodging and additional staffing needs can be taken care of.

How Many People Can We Host for My Youth Retreat?

We have 5 new dorms that have 176 beds for overnight stays. There are 25 rooms in our Rocky Mountain Lodge, which can house up to 90 guests. Our two-story mill building, cutting-edge chapel, coach stop, and lodge rooms have enough space for indoor group meetings. Numerous smaller cabins are additionally accessible.

We can cook and serve meals for more than 150 people.

What Kind of Activities Are Offered?

In addition to a new zip line that was finished in 2016, we also feature a mini golf course, an archery range, and a 40-foot climbing tower that was finished in 2012. We have a basketball court, sand volleyball court, and state-of-the-art Astroturf soccer field. On our property, there are many simple hiking routes, and there is nearby access to Rocky Mountain National Park.
