What Is the Weather and Temperature in Estes Park, Colorado?
Snow is a given year-round in Estes Park, Colorado, but so are afternoon picnics.
Summers average a daily temperature in the 70s with afternoon thundershowers and cool mountain nights. Layers are a must in the summer because you will want short sleeves in the afternoons but sweatshirts or light jackets in the morning and evenings.
Fall is absolutely beautiful in Estes Park. The air is crisp, and the skies are blue. Of course, there is a chance of scattered snow showers, and the weather can vary a lot. Daily temperatures average in the mid-70s in August to the mid-50s in October.
Winter is great for watching wildlife. Though the temperatures are cold, the days are usually sunny. You do have to be aware of high winds, ice and snow in the winter. Winter averages daily temperatures in the 30s in December through February and in the 40s in March.
Spring is a beautiful time of year in Estes Park, but it actually has the biggest snow months of March and April. The daily temperatures average in the 50s with sunny days.
Just like in summer, you will want to dress in layers as you will want a short sleeve shirt in the afternoons but a sweatshirt, jacket, or maybe even a heavy coat in the evenings. You will also want to have a rain jacket available because of the afternoon showers.
